MyACCESS Florida is the state’s online portal for food assistance, Medicaid, and cash assistance, run by the Department of Children and Families. It is where you apply, check your application status, upload documents, and renew. This page covers the things people actually search for: logging in, why your old account stopped working, what the portal can and cannot do, and the phone number that reaches a human.
First: Why Your Old Account Does Not Work
Florida retired the old ACCESS Florida system in December 2023 and replaced it with the current portal at myaccess.myflfamilies.com. Accounts did not carry over. If you had an account on the old system and your password fails today, nothing is wrong with you or your case: you create a new account on the new portal and link your existing case to it during setup.
This one change still generates confusion years later, because thousands of guides online describe the old system. If a page tells you to log in at a web address that is not myflfamilies.com, it is describing the retired portal.
What You Can Do on MyACCESS
Not sure if you qualify for benefits? Check in under 2 minutes — it's free, private, and shows estimated amounts.
- Apply for SNAP food assistance, Medicaid, and Temporary Cash Assistance in one application, about 30 minutes online.
- Check your application status and read every notice DCF sends, usually before the paper copy arrives.
- Upload documents with your phone camera instead of mailing or faxing them.
- Report changes in income, address, or household size.
- Complete renewals when your certification period ends.
One thing MyACCESS does not handle: unemployment benefits. Florida unemployment runs through a completely separate system called Reconnect, under a different agency. Plenty of websites claim you can manage unemployment on MyACCESS, and they are wrong, which is worth knowing before you spend an hour looking for a menu that does not exist.
Logging In and Fixing a Locked Account
Sign in at myaccess.myflfamilies.com with your email address and password. Forgot the password? The reset link on the login page sends a reset email within minutes; check spam before requesting a second one, because repeated requests can lock the account temporarily.
If you cannot get past the reset, the Customer Call Center at 850-300-4323 can verify your identity and unlock access, weekdays 8am to 5pm. Florida Relay is 711 and TTY is 1-800-955-8771.
Checking Your Application Status
Our free checker shows every program you're eligible for with estimated monthly amounts. No signup needed.
See What I Qualify For →🔒 Free · Private · Takes 2 minutesAfter applying, your case appears in the portal with its current status, and DCF must decide a complete application within federal deadlines: 30 days for SNAP, 45 days for most Medicaid applications, and up to 90 days when a disability determination is involved. Not every application requires an interview anymore. DCF sends a notice when one is needed, so watch your MyACCESS inbox rather than waiting by the phone.
Two of our guides go deeper here: applying for SNAP in Florida covers the food assistance application step by step, and Florida food stamps eligibility covers the income limits before you apply.

Approval letters, benefit amounts, and renewals stay in MyACCESS, but two everyday tasks live outside it. Your EBT card balance is checked at 888-356-3281 or in the EBT app, not in the portal. And your deposit day is set by the digits of your case number, explained with the full table in our Florida SNAP deposit dates guide.
The amounts themselves reset each October with the federal year, currently up to $1,023 a month for a family of four, covered in the October SNAP increase guide. And because most MyACCESS users qualify for more than one program, our Florida assistance programs guide maps what else stacks on top.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is MyACCESS Florida the same as ACCESS Florida?
Same purpose, new system. ACCESS Florida was retired in December 2023 and MyACCESS replaced it at myaccess.myflfamilies.com. Old accounts did not transfer, so returning users create a new account and link their case.
Why does my MyACCESS application say pending?
Pending means DCF is still working the case, waiting on a document, or waiting on an interview. Open the case details and the notices tab: if something is needed from you, it is listed there, and uploading it through the portal is faster than mailing it.
Can I apply for Florida unemployment on MyACCESS?
No. Unemployment runs through Reconnect, a separate system under a different agency. MyACCESS covers SNAP, Medicaid, and cash assistance only.
What phone number reaches a real person at MyACCESS?
The DCF Customer Call Center at 850-300-4323, weekdays 8am to 5pm. Expect the shortest waits early in the morning and midweek. For EBT card issues, use 888-356-3281 instead, which answers around the clock.
How long does Florida take to approve an application?
SNAP decisions come within 30 days, or within 7 days for households that qualify for expedited processing. Medicaid runs up to 45 days, or 90 with a disability determination. The clock starts when your application is complete, which is why uploading requested documents quickly matters more than anything else you control.
