Schedule verified against the USDA state issuance rules for Pennsylvania. Reviewed October 2026.
Pennsylvania SNAP deposit dates are the hardest in the country to pin to a calendar, for two reasons no other big state combines: the schedule counts business days instead of calendar days, and it changes by county. Your date can land differently every month, and your neighbor two counties over may follow a completely different cycle. This page explains the system, gives you the full ten day table, and shows the two fastest ways to get your exact date without any counting.
How Pennsylvania’s System Works
Benefits are issued over the first ten business days of each month, skipping weekends and federal holidays, based on the last digit of your seven digit case record number. Because business days shift with the calendar, the actual dates move month to month. A “3rd business day” deposit lands on October 5 one month and November 4 the next.
Counties then choose how to use that window. The largest counties, including Philadelphia, Allegheny, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, Lancaster, York, Lehigh, Northampton, Erie, Dauphin, Cambria, Fayette, and Schuylkill, spread recipients across all ten days by digit. Many smaller counties pay every recipient on one fixed business day, and some split recipients across two days.

| Case record number ends in | Benefits available on the |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1st business day |
| 2 | 2nd business day |
| 3 | 3rd business day |
| 4 | 4th business day |
| 5 | 5th business day |
| 6 | 6th business day |
| 7 | 7th business day |
| 8 | 8th business day |
| 9 | 9th business day |
| 0 | 10th business day |
To convert to a calendar date, count forward from the 1st, skipping Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. When a month opens on a weekend or a holiday like Labor Day sits early in the month, everything after it slides later, which is why an October deposit on the 6th can become a November deposit on the 9th with nothing wrong at all.
Skip the Counting: Two Faster Ways
Your COMPASS account at the state’s benefits site shows your next issuance date outright, and your approval notice states your payment day. Between those two, nobody actually needs to count business days, and if your county runs a one or two day cycle, your notice is the only reliable source, since the digit table above does not apply to you.

- Count business days again, or better, check COMPASS. A holiday early in the month pushes late cycle deposits several calendar days later, and this explains most Pennsylvania “late” deposits.
- Look for a pending semi annual report or renewal in COMPASS. An unfinished report stops the deposit entirely.
- Check your balance any time using the recipient hotline printed on the back of your EBT ACCESS card.
- For case help, call the Department of Human Services customer service center at 800-692-7462, or your County Assistance Office.
Frequently Asked Questions
What time do Pennsylvania SNAP benefits load?
Around midnight at the start of your issuance day. Because the day itself is a business day, deposits never land on weekends or federal holidays in Pennsylvania.
Why does my deposit date change every month?
Pennsylvania counts business days, not calendar days. Weekends and holidays shift the count each month, so the same “4th business day” maps to different calendar dates through the year. Your position in the cycle never changes, only the calendar around it.
Which digit does my county use?
Only ten day counties use the digit table. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh’s Allegheny County, and the other large counties listed above spread by digit. Many smaller counties pay everyone on a single fixed business day. Your approval notice and COMPASS both state which day applies to your case.
Where is my case record number?
On every notice from your County Assistance Office and in your COMPASS account. It is the seven digit case identifier, and the schedule reads its last digit.
Do cash assistance and SNAP arrive together in Pennsylvania?
They follow the same business day structure but are issued as separate benefits, so a household with both may see them load on the same day or on different days depending on the county cycle.

Check My Benefits in 2 Minutes →Pennsylvania pays by business day, county by county, which makes the calendar wobble but the system predictable: your digit or your county’s fixed day never changes, only the dates around it. COMPASS shows your exact next date and beats any counting. A skipped month means a report or renewal is waiting, and 800-692-7462 reaches the state when the county line does not.
